Hi Satu! Congratulations and welcome as the new owner of Big On Batik!
      Oh my stars! I am so excited to be the new owner of Big on Batik! This has truly been  a dream come true for me. It has been so encouraging working with Cathy for so many years that it just seems natural to me to continue on with Cathy's vision for Big On Batik. I am all about giving great choices for clothing to our community because we deserve it!
    I used to look at catalogs and photos thinking why don't they make that in my size and why don't they show that in my size?! Not having the choices I wanted was so frustrating! When I dreamed about having my own plus-size clothing line, I would envision what designs I would love to create that would have the right look to flatter a plus size woman. I knew what I could do with my artistic vision if I ever had the chance, and now I do. Please join me and Big On Batik as I make my fashion dreams materialize!


Can you give us a little preview of what's coming up in 2009?
   There will be many beautiful items in 2009! I plan on keeping several of the same wonderful styles and patterns that Cathy has done such a fantastic job of designing. I  want to add more choices with some fun new details and design changes and you will have great new styles with a really good foundation.
    We'll start out with the "Best of Big On Batik" basic line.The most popular styles will be offered in solid colors so you can mix and match with all the wonderful Batik prints you own. For summer, we will have some of Big On Batik's most flattering new items such as the sassy smockerchiefs in multiple colors.  We'll have the adorable saucy top in solid colors which is perfect for those warm days. We also will have the chemise top designed by Ro in cute fun colors and solids.  And those  all time favorite sexy Smock Tops are coming back this summer with even more gorgeuous colors and prints. They look great on every figure and they are super cute with everything. We will have them with straps in ocean blue with dolphins and pretty purple with pink swirls. They even make great short sundresses to keep you cool. Summer offerings will also include more of the popular batik items from Keeper of the Rainbow, and some colorful unique Wanita Dresses in rainbow and pink colors. These are Big on Batik  favorite basics and super comfy make them a must-have item!
    In June , look forward to more of your Big On Batik must have items such as the timeless Sundresses with pockets,  and extra long Caftan Tops in several stunning colors that you just can't get anywhere else!

Will there be a catalog for 2009?
 We'll have several of our monthly e-mail newsletters so don't forget to sign up on our homepage, but there will not be a catalog until 2010. However, please continue to add your name to our mailing list by clicking on the " Request a Catalog" link that you'll find at the bottom of the home page as we do mail out a photo flyer if requested.
What will help you decide on the new styles you'll be carrying?
    For Big on Batik customers we want to carry the most requested and special items. So we would love to hear from all of you and what your favorite designs are and what you hope to see from Big on Batik. What you like best and what colors you want to see more of from Big On Batik. In 2008, we had a great time going to the BBW Network Bash and the NAAFA Convention to get some feedback on our survey. We would so much appreciate your taking the time to fill out our surveyand let us know what you think. We want you to be a part of shaping the sexy, sassy, saucy styles for Big on Batik.


Will you have any guest designers working with you?
    Oh yes, I really enjoy having guest designers make some exclusive items just for Big on Batik. I have had the pleasure of working with several designers and I am excited to have them design special clothing just for Big On Batik. Ro is a fantastic designer with exceptional skill working with plus-size designs. We can't wait to see what she has in store for us. Also Leslie from Keeper of the Rainbow does amazing custom Batik colors that are so fun and pretty. They just get rave reviews every time. We are having her make a unique order with some of our designs for this year, too. With my photography I am fortunate to meet many talented people and I am happy to bring to Big On Batik my network of resources.

What's your vision for the near future for Big On Batik-the next few years?
    I have so many wonderful new ideas to add to Big On Batik. We plan to have super coordinating outfits so you can mix and match with lovely accent colors. We want to bring you a lovely fall line as well so the batik does not have to end when summer does, you can have great colors all year long. We will make extended sizes from 0X-8X in many styles with petite lengths too. We love to add new details with a sleeve or neckline change to create new looks with old favorites.

What's your long-range vision for Big On Batik-where would you like to see it in 10 years?
    My long-range vision for Big on Batik is to see it expand and grow. I plan to offer more clothing, more styles, more colors, more sizes, more choices. I want to continue to provide amazing  clothing for all sizes of large! I think a Kid's line is very much needed. I want to offer some perfect colors for kids so they can feel good about themselves. I can't wait to be able to create a wonderful formal line with magnificent inspirations from my favorite, the tropics.  Cathy's art tank dresses get the most amazing reviews and requests. We would love to offer something just as fantastic. And of course with my experience being a photographer I enjoy taking photos of models in real sizes in our clothing. I want to keep in touch with what makes Big On Batik customers happy!
